One-step polish
For a finish that looks a little tired or hazy. A polishing machine works over the surface to improve clarity and shine in one polishing stage. The improvement depends on the material and its condition.
Two-step correction
For more noticeable chalkiness or dullness. A stronger first stage addresses weathered material; a finer second stage refines the finish. We review photos and access before deciding whether this approach is appropriate.

Above the rail & decks
The exposed upper surfaces and deck areas. Smooth surfaces and textured walking areas need different treatment; nonskid is cleaned without promising a slippery, waxed walking surface.
Hull: rail to waterline
The outside sides of the boat between the rail and waterline. This is a separate scope from the decks. Work while afloat is possible only when equipment can safely reach every quoted surface; otherwise the boat must be out of the water.
Stainless steel
A separate polishing scope for the exposed stainless selected in your estimate. Railings and other metal fittings are reviewed for condition and access.
Exterior cockpit & helm
The outdoor seating and control areas, exterior vinyl, clear-vinyl enclosure panels such as Eisenglass, and exterior glass. This is exterior detailing, not living-space cleaning.
Before winter storage or the next launch
For fall care, share the planned haul-out or cover date so the selected exterior surfaces can be cleaned and protected while accessible. A maintenance wash addresses salt and dirt; a chalky finish needs a separate polishing assessment. Mechanical winterization, shrink-wrapping and bottom painting are outside this detailing service.
What the finish is telling you
If dirt rinses away and the surface underneath still reflects clearly, maintenance may be enough. If the finish stays cloudy after cleaning or leaves a chalky residue, tell us before choosing a polishing service. A photo in even daylight is more useful than a distant reflection in bright sun.
Gel coat is the outer finish used on many fiberglass boats. Painted surfaces, decals, repaired areas, and old coatings can respond differently. Let us know about repairs or previous coatings so the approach can match the actual surface.
The details, when you’re ready
What does “oxidation” mean?
In detailing, oxidation commonly describes the weathered, dull or chalky appearance of a finish. Cleaning removes contamination sitting on it; polishing works on the finish itself. More aggressive correction is not automatically better, and deteriorated or damaged material may need repair rather than detailing.
Wax, SiO₂ sealant, and ceramic coating
Wax and sealant are protective finishing products applied after the surface is prepared. “SiO₂” identifies a silicon-dioxide component in a product; it does not mean every spray sealant is a long-term professional ceramic coating. Protection does not replace washing and does not repair a dull surface underneath. Your estimate names the service you are actually selecting.
What is outside the marine scope?
Marine services are exterior-only. Salons, sleeping cabins, galleys, heads, and interior carpets or upholstery are not included. Hull detailing here stops at the waterline; underwater hull work and bottom painting are not offered through this request.
How your estimate works
Your estimate follows the selected services, confirmed boat length and exterior areas. Above-rail/deck, rail-to-waterline hull, stainless and exterior cockpit work are separate choices. Applicable travel is shown with the estimate; condition, safe access and final scope are reviewed before the price is agreed.
A submitted date request sends your preferred timing for review without reserving a time block. It becomes a confirmed appointment only after acceptance. A quote without a date holds no time, and no deposit or payment is collected.

A little preparation goes a long way
Have your boat’s year, make, model, length if known, marina or service address, and whether it will be afloat or out of the water.
Text photos to us at (860) 912-9013 with your name and request reference, if you have already submitted a request. Send an overall vessel photo and closer views of the selected decks, hull, stainless or exterior cockpit. Include any chalkiness, damage or previous repairs, and say whether the boat will be afloat or ashore. Photos are sent by text, not uploaded here.
We need running water through a garden-hose connection and a standard electrical outlet within 50 feet. Suitable onboard water and power can work when agreed in advance. We review access, condition, the estimate, and the schedule before confirming.
Questions before you start
Can you detail my boat at its slip?
Often, if the marina permits the work and the quoted surfaces are safely accessible with water and power available. A slip does not automatically make all sides reachable. We confirm the plan before accepting the appointment.
How is the estimate calculated?
The request uses the approved pricing catalog, billable boat length, selected areas, and services. If you do not know the length, provide year, make, and model so we can review it. The estimate remains subject to review.
Does selecting a date book the boat immediately?
No. Choosing a date alone does not save a request. Once you submit successfully, the requested work time is sent for our review without a time reservation; the appointment is confirmed only after acceptance. No deposit or payment is collected. Multiday projects use Wednesday and Thursday only, starting Wednesday, and must fit those work windows.
