Fall boat care · Before winter storage

A clean finish before the cover goes on.

Wrapping up the season on the Connecticut shoreline? Arrange an exterior boat wash to remove salt, grime and surface buildup, then choose wax or polishing based on the finish. Share your haul-out or shrink-wrap date so we can review the work and timing before your boat is covered.

For a boat that still has its shine, wash and wax may be the right fit. A chalky or dull gelcoat may need polishing or compounding first. We’ll help you choose from photos and a review of the surface.

Boat wash & wax

Exterior cleaning and protection for a finish in good condition. Choose the areas you want serviced, with scope and access reviewed before the visit.

Gelcoat polishing & oxidation removal

A one-step polish addresses lighter dullness. A two-step compound and polish targets heavier oxidation where the gelcoat condition allows. Results depend on the surface.

Decks & exterior surfaces

Above-rail surfaces, decks and nonskid, plus selected exterior cockpit, helm, vinyl, glass and stainless areas. Each area is discussed and quoted for your boat.

Marine services cover the exterior. Rail-to-waterline hull work depends on safe access while afloat; otherwise, arrange it ashore. Compare washing, polishing and protection before choosing.

Planning your boat detailing

When should I schedule cleaning before winter storage?

Contact us before haul-out or covering, and share those dates with your request. We’ll review the boat’s condition, access and the work you want completed. Weather and availability affect timing; a requested date becomes an appointment only after confirmation.

Can you detail my boat at the marina or while it is in the water?

We can review exterior work at your location when the marina or property allows it. Above-rail and deck work depends on safe access. Rail-to-waterline hull work is available afloat only where safely reachable; other hull work needs the boat ashore. Please provide a usable hose and electrical outlet within 50 feet.

Does my boat need a wash and wax or oxidation removal?

A wash cleans the surface and wax adds protection. Wax alone does not correct oxidized gelcoat. If the finish looks faded or chalky, send photos so we can review whether a one-step polish or two-step compound and polish is appropriate. Read the marine care guide.

How do I get a boat detailing estimate?

Start with your boat’s length overall, year, make and model, service town and the areas you want detailed. Add whether it is afloat or ashore and text photos of the finish. Pricing follows the selected service and areas, with the estimate reviewed with you before work is confirmed.

A clear plan before the work begins.

  1. Tell us what you have

Choose the unit and the areas you want cleaned or improved. An estimate can start without a date.

  2. We review the details

Text relevant photos. We confirm scope, condition, access and pricing with you.

  3. Agree on the visit

Your preferred day is a request. Work is scheduled only after approval and confirmation.
